Anesthesia care can feel unfamiliar. We're here to walk you through what to expect — and to answer every question, no matter how small.
Your safety and comfort come first.
Your anesthesia care is led by a physician anesthesiologist — a medical doctor with specialized training in pain management, critical care, and patient safety. From your first questions about what to expect to clear, transparent billing after your procedure, we're here to make your experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
Prior to surgery
We develop a personalized anesthesia plan based on your health, the type of surgery, and any additional concerns that you might have. We stay with you the entire time to ensure your safety during surgery.
Day of Surgery
A short conversation about your health history, medications, and any concerns. We answer every question.
Continuous monitoring
From induction to emergence, your vitals, comfort, and safety are our singular focus.
Recovery & home
We work closely with your recovery nurse to optimize pain control, prevent nausea, and monitor your recovery immediately after surgery.
Patient FAQs.
Yes. You'll meet the physician anesthesiologist who will care for you the morning of your procedure. They'll review your health history, answer questions, and walk you through the anesthesia plan.
Due to the complexities of scheduling, physician availability, and coverage needs across our facilities, we are not able to accommodate patient requests for a specific anesthesiologist. Cardiac and pediatric anesthesia requests can be coordinated through your surgeon's office. Otherwise, you can rest assured that you will be assigned a qualified anesthesiologist who is well equipped to meet your specific needs and provide safe, high-quality care. If you know one of our physicians personally, you are welcome to contact them directly to discuss their availability.
We provide the full spectrum: general anesthesia, regional anesthesia (including nerve blocks and epidurals), sedation, and obstetric anesthesia. Your physician will discuss the best option for your procedure.
Your surgeon will give you specific instructions — typically including when to stop eating and drinking, which medications to take or hold, and what to bring. Follow those instructions carefully, and call us if anything is unclear.
Anesthesia is billed separately from your surgeon and the hospital or surgery center. You may receive a separate bill from us. If you have questions about your bill or need an estimate before your procedure, our billing team can help.
Most major insurance plans cover anesthesia services. We work with your insurer directly when possible, but coverage details depend on your specific plan. For specific estimates, use our request-an-estimate form.
